Bloomberg CityLab: The world's local leaders take the stage in CDMX
Listen to This Article
Cities take the global spotlight this morning as hundreds of mayors, top urban thinkers, civic leaders, and creatives gather in Mexico City for the 11th Bloomberg CityLab. Organized by Bloomberg Philanthropies in partnership with the Aspen Institute, this year’s preeminent global cities summit will particularly emphasize municipalities across Latin America using innovation to make progress for their residents. Attendees will dive into game-changing solutions shaped by city halls in the region—and elsewhere—and how their own cities can replicate that success.
Importantly, the event is not limited to those in CDMX. People anywhere can join the conversation via livestream at Bloomberg Cities and through social media on X, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
Don’t miss the discussions—starting at 11am EDT—which will feature fresh perspective on cities’ most pressing issues from the world’s top urban leaders and experts, including:
- Members of the new administration of Mexican President—and former Mayor of Mexico City—Claudia Sheinbaum, such as José Antonio Peña Merino, who will discuss moving local digital innovation to the national level, and Foreign Secretary Juan Ramón de la Fuente, who will explore a range of issues, such as managing migration and climate change on the global stage.
- Cruz Pérez Cuéllar, mayor of Juárez, Mexico, and Eric Enriquez, mayor of Las Cruces, New Mexico, who will dive into governing on both sides of the border and the opportunities their regional partnership brings.
- Rossana Chahla, mayor of San Miguel de Tucumán, Argentina, and Daniela Peñaloza, mayor of Las Condes, Chile, who will reveal what the next level of data excellence in local government looks like.
